Tree-ditions are delighted to announce another great opportunity! John Rhyder, the UK’s only Cybertracker Evaluator is coming to East Lothian again. Following the last five successful events John will be undertaking the sixth tracker evaluation to be held here in East Lothian. Cybertracker evaluations have become the international standard for evaluating and certifying wildlife trackers. The system was created in South Africa in 1994 by Louis Liebenberg who set out to identify those with exceptional skills amidst the steep decline in traditional tracking skills (The name derives from the digital system designed to assist the native people record their findings.) In 2005 Mark Elbroch (author of Mammal Tracks and Sign) held the first evaluation in the USA. Since then the system has been adopted by numerous schools, state agencies and research teams. The system has travelled across the globe and is now well-established in Northern Europe. For more history on Cybertracker visit http://trackercertification.com/ These evaluations offer the chance to test your skills and learn a huge amount about tracking in a friendly and supportive environment. There are ten places available on evaluations which are filled up very quickly so please be quick. - [Hurdle Making Day](https://www.tree-ditions.com/c/products/hurdle-making-day): Join us in the woods to make your own hurdle. Hurdles were once used prolifically throughout the uk as temporary walls for penning farm animals. They are now predominantly used as garden fences or partitions. This was an ancient skill used throughout the country. It involves harvesting coppice wood and using it to make sales/zales the uprights and weavers/ethers the horizontals which are woven between the uprights.
